Match.com review.

A few years ago I used the on line dating service Match.com. Altogether it was a terrific experience. Match.com does not charge a fee for looking but they do charge a small fee for creating your own profile. This fee is dependent on how long you sign up for their service.

Basically what you do is set up your profile. You include things like your personal dislikes and things that really are important to you. For example if you hate smoking you would include that as one of your important criteria. You limit the area that you are willing to date in. Say for example South Orange County California. One of the really important things to select is your gender preference, Match.com caters to all combinations of individuals. You are also given the opportunity to upload a picture.

Let me tell you about meeting people, usually it starts out with a message. The person contacting you cannot see your real e-mail address. You go on line and look the person up and decide based on their profile and picture if you have any interest. If you do, you can message them back and hopefully you can arrange a meeting. Once you have established contact with a person you can use instant messaging.

I highly recommend that all first meetings be done in a very public place. The first date is usually quite short, you will almost always be disappointed because everybody lies on their profile. Expect guys to be shorter and less athletic and the girls to be older and not the sexual bombshells their pictures lead you to believe. Do everybody a favor and do not upload a picture of yourself when you were 30 pounds lighter. I do not care how much black you wear you cannot hide the fact that you are now fat. Also proper upbringing should make you feel bad about ditching on a date. If you set up the time and place at least have the decency to show up even if its to say you can see its not a match.

Never be afraid to say its not a match. You will know, almost immediately, and it will allow everyone the opportunity to start looking again. On one of my dates I met a transsexual, that was not right for me (My poor mother would have died if I brought him home for Sunday dinner) but it might be right for someone else. That is one of the neat things about this service their are all types of people. Straight, gay, swingers, bisexuals, transsexuals, bikers, geeks, brains, jocks, business men and women, you name it and they have it.

For every 10 people you meet, maybe one of them will turn into a second date. I found Match.com to be kind of like a massive pick up site. If you are not into hooking up (which you will be able to tell within the first 5 minutes) then most of the guys will run and not want to have a real second date. That sounds so sexist because I happen to know many girls who use Match.com to hook up rather than commit to a long term relationship.

I did make several real friends both male and female and I did use the site for approximately a year but ultimately I found it not the right path for me. Most of the people using the service were not interested in a long term relationship and the ones who were, you could understand why they were still single. However its free to browse and if you see something you like it does not hurt to send them an e-mail. So if you want to check it out go to www.match.com

A Dating Web Page Review – Christian Cafe

I am writing a review for the dating website Christian Cafe. I wanted to find a good dating website that encouraged Christian values. I found the Christian Cafe website by chance and decided to give it a try. The website was a little different then, but it seems that most things have remained the same. I logged on for my free 10-day trial, typed in general information, and then personal information. I was invited to chat, join some bible studies, and get to know people. As much as I liked the site the first go around I didn’t meet anyone special. I paid about $13.00 for a month’s membership to the Christian Cafe and nothing happened other than meeting some nice friends.

But what I liked about the Christian Cafe was that they kept offering me ten more free days after I dropped them membership. I finally decided to give it one more go and on my last free day met my future husband. So it did work out in the end. I would recommend this site with a bit of caution. If you are looking for a Christian partner Christian Cafe is a pretty good source. You can be specific about your denomination, how much you attend church, and your level of involvement in the church. You can also meet new friends and, if you are open, can get new ideas and perspectives on people. The cost is not unreasonable either. The web staff is helpful and gives you good tips.

On the downside, you may also meet a few overzealous or just plain nutty people on here. For example, one of the first encounters I had a guy’s friend wanted to mail me bible studies about the world being destroyed in 2011. He was anxious to push his theology onto others and quite overzealous. So I reported the problem and he was taken off the site. So as with any dating websites, exercise caution and common sense. Just because people claim to be Christian doesn’t mean you won’t run into problems.

All in all my experience was positive and I would recommend that you give Christiancafe.com a try. I found a great husband from the site that had I never belonged to we would have never met due to different life paths. We have been married for three wonderful years and are looking forward to many more together.

Yahoo! Personals and PlentyOfFish

I have had mixed results with online dating. I have met two men online and I have learned from both of the relationships the pros and cons of meeting someone online. I have also met them from different dating websites. The first one was through Yahoo Personals and the second one was through plentyoffish.

On Yahoo Personals I was talking to a man online and eventually decided to meet him in person. We hit it off really well, had a lot in common and loved spending time together. I was thinking maybe it could work out and that Yahoo Personals might be a decent dating website. The website is initially free as long as you do not want to send any emails and only want to talk to people by sending what Yahoo Personals calls "ice breakers". You can only send one ice breaker to each person so if you do not pay the fee (which I did not) that is it as far as talking. The fee and the ice breaker deal was the only thing I did not like about Yahoo Personals. Unfortunately the guy I had met through the website turned out that he did not like kids, at least if it was not his own daughter, since I have a child I ended it immediately. I would recommend Yahoo Personals to anyone who is willing to pay the price in order to use the service.

The second time I used a dating website I went to plentyoffish.com. This is a site that is absolutely free. It has forums, you can see who has viewed you, mark people as your favorites, do searches and plenty more. I met my current boyfriend on Plentyoffish and we have been together for eleven months now and still going strong. Plentyoffish has something there for everyone to enjoy and it is almost guaranteed to find someone on there. Many people have gone the Plentyoffish website and have found either friends or boyfriends/girlfriends. Besides all of the other things Plentyoffish offers I like the fact that it is free and you do not have to be specifically looking for someone to date you can meet friends on there as well and no one will get mad. I highly recommend this site for everyone to use.

Having used two different dating sites I have seen the pros and cons of each. Yahoo Personals charges a fee and the fee depends on what type of membership you want, whereas Plentyoffish is free and offers more to the people. Yahoo Personals I quickly learned was also more of a dating website and people would get angry if you just were looking for friends whereas Plentyoffish is the exact opposite friends or dating anyone can use the site and not get chastized. I got a bad deal on the first one but I am glad I decided to use a different site because if I had not decided to do so I would never have found the man of my dreams!

My Experiences with OK Cupid.

Hello. I would like to share my experiences using OK Cupid, a free online dating site. One of my friends asked me to sign up for OK cupid because he did. Basically this site is unique because you take all kinds of quizzes, and it matches your answers to the answers of other people that have taken the same types of quizzes, and as soon as you look at their profile it tells you a % of a match and a % of friend the two of you have. The address is okcupid.com For the most part I didn't meet a lot of people, but I did meet one man on okcupid who was really nice. We trade emails back Hello. I would like to share my experiences using ok Cupid, a free online dating site. One and forth for about a month, really entertaining ones at that. The first time we met, it was at a sports bar, I brought a friend with me, and he did also, and then we had a second date, but we never talked after that, we didn't have enough in common. Although it didn't work out it was still a pretty neat experience. What I like about ok cupid is the fact that it's free, and the quizzes are a lot of fun, very random questions about thousands of topics. The more questions you answer, the higher likelihood of meeting someone compatible because a lot of their matching is based on intersecting questions. You can also create your own quizzes to be used on the ok cupid site. However, there are a few things I don't particularly like about okcupid. You have a search radius in miles of your choosing to find possible matches; they show up when you log on. The problem is, I was given a lot of matches that were out of state, and even in Canada. My search radius was only 25 miles, so obviously it needs a little work on that level. Also, when you get a message on okcupid, it takes them about 3 weeks to notify you by email that you even have a message waiting at the site. That is way too long considering other sites let you know immediately. Plus there were a few matches sent to me that had nothing in common with me, they were interested in one night stands, and extramarital affairs. In conclusion, okcupid is a lot of fun, and I did meet someone nice, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than having a good time with the quizzes. But since it's free, take a shot at it, you never know what may happen.

The Details on Orkut.com

Orkut.com quietly launched on January 22, 2004 by Google, the search engine company. Orkut Buyukkokten, a Turkish software engineer, developed it as an independent project while working at Google. It claims to be designed to help users meet new friends and maintain existing relationships.

On orkut.com, I met very diverse kind of people. It is a very fast, convenient and easiest way to reach your loved once. orkut.com allows you to express your feeling in your desired manner.

I met a girl named Sonia on orkut.com. By and by we developed a good understanding of each other. After a few months, we met one day. That day I expressed my feelings to her. I told that I love her. She asked me for some time. After a week she replied in yes and now we are married. As my expectation, Sonia proved to be a very sweet, loving and faithful wife for me. I got my life managed after I got married to her. I am very happy with Sonia.

And you would be surprised to know that I never paid any fee for contacting Sonia on orkut.com.

Some discomfort exists among users and potential users of orkut.com, especially since Google's other noteworthy product of 2004, the Web-based email client Gmail, had servers scan emails for keywords in order to deliver advertisements targeted at them, which sparked an idea that Google was "reading your email".

Despite this I don’t think there is anything that dislike about orkut.com.

I recommend orkut.com for everyone who is in search of good friends. May be you find there the love of your life.

Orkut.com is really doing a good job by getting people closer by providing the easiest way to interact.

The website has more than two million male and female members worldwide who actively use the site because it offers a convenient and safe way for singles to meet.

Approximately five years ago, I met a gentleman online after using Yahoo Personals. The website at that time was free. It was a great experience. We are no longer dating, but we did become really good friends. The website is very easy to use and give suggestions and tips on how to fill out the profile. There really is nothing that I did not like about the website. I would recommend people use the website. It's easy to use. It is a free site, which is a bonus for people who do not want their credit cards used on the internet.
